The 6th meeting of the Council of Europe Steering Committee for the Rights of the Child was held in Strasbourg

On November 15-17, 2022, the 6th meeting of the Council of Europe Steering Committee for the Rights of the Child was held in Strasbourg, France.

During the meeting, the Steering Committee considered 16 issues.

In particular, information was provided on the recommendation documents to be adopted by the member countries within the framework of the "Children's Strategy for 2022-2027" of the Council of Europe, and at the same time, the document of instructions on strengthening accountability systems for violence against children was discussed. The reports of the countries regarding the implementation status of the strategy were heard.

 Presentations were held by international experts on the Guidelines and recommendation documents on the protection of the best interests of children in case of parental separation and the care system, as well as children's participation in making decisions about their health.

In particular, children's rights and the concept of artificial intelligence were discussed on the artificial intelligence activity initiative of the Steering Committee.

Azerbaijan was represented at the meeting by Jeyran Rahmatullayeva, Chief of Staff of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs, as a national expert and child development and social work specialist.

J. Rahmatullayeva gave information about the National Children's Strategy for 2020-2030 and the documents prepared within the framework of the strategy's action plan for 2020-2025, as well as the activities carried out in this field.
